Budgeting and bookkeeping
Sean Hart is RSI’s Finance Officer and Bookkeeper, where he manages the company’s core financial operations and supports project-level accounting. With a strong command of both accounting principles and digital systems, Sean ensures the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of RSI’s financial records and reporting.
Sean’s responsibilities include payroll administration, cash flow management, budgeting, day-to-day transaction oversight, and regulatory compliance. He also collaborates with RSI’s multidisciplinary project teams to support project-specific budgeting and financial tracking, contributing to the fiscal accountability of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives across Canada and internationally.
Pre-RSI
Sean brings more than 20 years of experience in accounting and over 12 years of experience in web development and digital system administration, a rare combination that allows him to bridge traditional financial operations with modern digital solutions.
Prior to joining RSI, Sean worked across sectors as a finance officer, controller, and full-stack developer, providing both bookkeeping and systems development services to small and medium-sized organizations. His ability to code, deploy, and maintain customized financial and management applications has enabled many clients to automate workflows and improve financial transparency.
This dual expertise—in both numbers and systems—has made Sean an essential asset to RSI as the company expands its projects, partnerships, and digital infrastructure.
Outside RSI
Away from the spreadsheets and servers, Sean enjoys exploring digital innovation, open-source tools, and system automation. He also dedicates time to personal projects that combine financial literacy and technology, helping non-profits and small businesses modernize their accounting practices.
