Hong Duan is a Systems Analyst and Application Developer at Risk Sciences International, where she has applied her expertise since 2011. She holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from the University of Ottawa and is certified as a Microsoft .NET Professional Developer. Hong specializes in developing database-driven, risk-based web applications.
Using technologies such as ASP.NET, Python, and Excel, she builds robust and scalable web platforms and applications that support data visualization, statistical analysis, and reporting for complex scientific datasets. She works closely with team members and scientists at RSI to deliver accurate and insightful results to clients.
Pre-RSI
Before joining RSI, Hong worked at Wireless Werx Inc., where she served as the lead developer for CelAware, a mobile wireless management software solution. With more than a decade of experience in database-centric web development, she brought to RSI a strong foundation in systems architecture, .NET development, and UI/UX design principles.
Her academic background in computer science and early career focus on enterprise software enabled a seamless transition into risk-focused application systems that demand precision, reliability, and scalability.
Outside RSI
Outside the office, Hong maintains an active and balanced lifestyle. She enjoys exercising, especially walking and yoga, which help her recharge and maintain focus in her demanding analytical work.
