Risk Sciences International (RSI), as members of a consulting team with Stantec, along with the Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC), has won an Award of Merit from the Consulting Engineers of Ontario for the First Nations Infrastructure Resilience Toolkit (FN-IRT).
The Consulting Engineers of Ontario Awards showcases projects that enrich society through application of creativity, ingenuity, and leadership in development of breakthrough engineering. RSI and the project team have been honoured for their work with OFNTSC and First Nations communities on the First Nations Infrastructure Resilience Toolkit (FN-IRT) & Pilot Projects in the award program’s Studies and Research category.
The FN Toolkit integrates traditional indigenous knowledge with climate science and engineering data to identify and qualify risks to community infrastructure. The Toolkit also supports risk and asset management planning; providing guidance on how to incorporate these risks into asset management practices to better plan maintenance, repairs and replacement of assets.
