Risk Sciences International will host Abdallah Alami as an intern in statistics with support from the Mitacs Accelerate program. This unique university-industry program supports interns at Canadian companies while completing graduate their training at Canadian universities.   

Mr. Alami will be completing his MSc in statistics at Carleton University under the supervision of Professor Patrick Farrell and Paul Villeneuve in the School of Mathematics and Statistics.  

As part of his training, Abdallah will write his thesis on drug-induced liver injury, using data on adverse drug reactions available at RSI.  An important component of this work will be the evaluation of the extent to which advserse reactions in humans can be predicted by laboratory data.  

Abdallah is looking forward to spending time at RSI over the next year as a Mitacs intern.
