The American Cancer Society is a nationwide voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer. It funds cancer research, provides education and support to patients, and advocates for public health policy. Founded in 1913, it is one of the largest sources of cancer-related research funding in the U.S. outside the federal government.
