With 20+ years experience in accounting and 12+ years experience in web development, I spend half of my time as a finance officer and bookkeeper. The other half of my time is spent coding, deploying, consulting and maintaining a variety of management web applications.

Emma Hartnett is an internationally recognized expert in risk assessment, specializing in toxicological, microbiological, and nutritional hazards. She holds a B.Sc. in Microbiology and a Ph.D. in Statistics and Modelling Science, where her thesis work focused on quantitative risk assessment for campylobacter infection from chicken. Hartnett has developed a variety of decision support tools addressing issues from infectious diseases to bioterrorism preparedness. She frequently contributes to WHO and FAO initiatives, and has been selected for the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Meetings on Microbiological Risk Assessment Roster of Experts for 2018-2022.

Margaret Wilson holds a BSc, BEd, and MSc in Molecular Biology, with post-graduate certificates in Population Health Risk Assessment and Management. She has worked extensively in health risk research, from BSE risk management to foodborne hazards. Currently at RSI, her focus includes risk prioritization and addressing challenges related to climate change. Margaret's multidisciplinary background equips her to tackle complex risk issues effectively.

Don Mattison's career is an amalgamation of medicine, science, and public service. He started with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Mathematics, followed by a Master's from MIT in Chemistry. He then pivoted to medicine, obtaining an MD from Columbia University and focusing on pharmacology and toxicology in reproductive health during his residencies. Mattison has held several prestigious appointments, including Dean of the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health and Chief Medical Officer at Risk Sciences International. Throughout his career, he obtained medical licenses in six U.S. states and served in the U.S. Public Health Service, retiring with the rank of Captain. Most recently, he became a Distinguished Professor of Epidemiology at the University of South Carolina.

With a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa and over a decade of experience, Hong Duan specializes in database-driven web projects. A Microsoft certified .NET developer, she previously worked at Wireless Werx Inc. Since joining RSI in 2011, her expertise has contributed to high-quality software development for clients like the Public Health Agency of Canada, the U.S. FDA, and international organizations such as FAO and WHO.

With interdisciplinary training in Life Sciences, Public Health, and Public Administration, Dr. Michael G. Tyshenko specializes in health risk communication and policy. He collaborates globally on infectious disease research, including SARS, MERS, and COVID-19, and leads chemical peer reviews at Risk Sciences International (RSI). His work also extends to pandemic planning in Nepal, focusing on drone delivery of medical supplies to remote areas. Tyshenko's expertise is sought by various government departments in Canada and abroad.

Daniel Krewski began his career in the federal government of Canada, focusing on programs within Health Canada, particularly in food safety and environmental health. Trained in mathematics, statistics, and biostatistics, his multidisciplinary background reflects the complex nature of risk science. He later transitioned to academia, founding the McLaughlin Centre for Population Health Risk Assessment at the University of Ottawa. There, he developed new methodologies and collaborated internationally. In 2006, he co-founded Risk Sciences International, aiming to provide expert advice on diverse risk issues. His contributions have been instrumental in shaping risk assessment frameworks used by organizations like Health Canada and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In 2023, Dr. Krewski passed the CEO's baton to Greg Paoli; he remains active as RSI Chief Risk Scientist.

Dr. Arnold, a former general surgeon and occupational health consultant in Labrador and Nouveau Quebec, served Quebec Cartier Mining Ltd and the Iron Ore Company of Canada from 1973 to 1981. He has held teaching positions at various Canadian medical faculties and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at McGill University. Dr. Arnold earned his M.D. from Queen's University in 1968 and has an extensive publication and presentation record with over 100 papers. He has received numerous honors for his contributions to occupational health and workplace psychological health and safety.

Martin LeBlanc specializes in business development at RSI, focusing on client needs across various sectors including health, nuclear, and aerospace. With a background in electrical/mechanical technology and sales, he excels in assembling project teams and navigating complex procurement processes. He is adept at contract negotiation, proposal development, and is well-versed in Government of Canada procurement vehicles. Martin is also experienced in international projects and adapts quickly to new procurement processes.

Dr. Nataliya Karyakina brings extensive expertise in toxicology and risk assessment to RSI. With a Ph.D. in Toxicology and experience at the McLaughlin Centre for Population Health Risk Assessment, she specializes in evaluating health risks from exposure to various toxic agents. Her research spans essential and toxic metals, pharmaceuticals, and nanomaterials. She has contributed to projects on chemical classification and labeling, as well as health-based regulatory guidance. Currently, she focuses on the health effects of engineered nanoalumina and diagnostic criteria for occupational manganism.
