National Academy of Sciences (NAS)

NAS is a private, nonprofit society of distinguished scholars in the United States. Established in 1863, it provides independent, objective advice to the U.S. government on matters of science and technology. NAS is part of the National Academies, which also include the National Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Medicine.
