CDC: Delta is serious

According to The Washington Post, and now confirmed by Director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Dr. Rochelle Walensky, an internal CDC document reveals that the Delta Coronavirus variant appears to cause more severe illness than the initial strain of Covid-19 and spreads as easily and efficiently as chickenpox, a highly contagious disease.

Dr. Walensky told CNN: “I think people need to understand that we’re not crying wolf here. This is serious,” going on to add, “It’s one of the most transmissible viruses we know about. Measles, chickenpox, this — they’re all up there.”

To emphasize the urgency of a muscular response, Dr. Walensky insists, “The measures we need to get this under control — they’re extreme. The measures you need are extreme.”
