Canada releases new future estimates

The Canadian government releases modeling that, even with strong public health measures, shows between 11,000 and 22,000 deaths over the course of the pandemic, with that number being closer to 300,000 deaths if no measures had been taken. Trudeau warns that “normality as it was before will not come back full-on until we get a vaccine for this”, and that residents will “have to remain vigilant for at least a year.”
