There are very few ways of elegantly or politely saying what has happened over the past year. Just over a year after the pandemic started, the official worldwide death count has now passed the 3 million mark. Three million people have died of a preventable death which, were the proper responses enacted, could have been far fewer. It is our hope, at Risk Sciences International, that going forward, all will better prepare for and respect the horrors of a deadly virus intent on spreading.
The other numbers are just as horrific. Worldwide, to date, there have been over 141 million confirmed cases. Many many more are believed to have been infected but not confirmed.
The bright light in this darkness is the number of vaccinated to date. The current estimate is almost 500,000,000 – 500 million – vaccinated. May these numbers continue to grow and may people continue to adhere to clearly common sense hygiene including the wearing of masks and social distancing.
