What is Managed In-house Video Studio?
Years ago, setting up an in-house video studio was a very costly proposition requiring a high degree of technical mastery. Today, a video studio can be set up for very little investment, in-house staff are often able to operate the camera(s) and do minor edits, and the space required is minimal.
A managed in-house video studio consists of a decorated or green screen studio, usually in the 10 to 40 square meter range (100 to 400 square feet), with one or two cameras, three to five LED lights, one or two microphones, probably a modest teleprompter, and a properly equipped computer. For those who wish to have a more complete installation, the investment is not more than a factor of 2 or 3 extra.
Regarding the managed aspect, RMI is able to offer training, and even operation, of the studio with the ability of doing it all remotely, if desired.
Managed In-house Video Studio: what to expect
The introductory package mentioned above is ideal for a one person on camera setup. There are a few additional options that can make the studio more complete including the more seating, more space, lighting, audio, etc. Additional cameras, and therefore switching equipment, is a next step. Finally, for instances in which there is no one on hand to operate the equipment, remote operation from RMI is possible.
Set up times are very brief for all versions of a modern studio. Whereas an old-school studio might have required substantial electrical work, sound proofing, and long wait times for equipment, from time of ordering, a proper video studio can be up and running in less than a week and in two weeks at most.
